2018 VW Golf Updates and New Equipment
At the New York International Auto Show, Volkswagen introduced the entire 2018 Golf Family. Many of the models included various updates including now standard LED taillights and Daytime Running Lights on all Golf models for the 2018 model year. Also, all SE and SEL trims across the Golf lineup will feature a new 8-inch infotainment screen. Let’s take a look at the 2018 VW Golf’s updates and new equipment for the new model year.
2018 VW Golf Interior and Exterior Updates
Interior and exterior updates for the 2018 VW Golf include LED taillights, LED Daytime Running Lights, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, a new chrome grille, and a larger 6.5-inch touchscreen for the Composition Color infotainment system. Existing standard equipment includes VW Car-Net App-Connect, power reclining front seats, cruise control and a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel. New equipment that is found on the 2018 Golf SEL includes 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels, an 8-inch touchscreen for the Discover Media navigation system, Adaptive Cruise Control, and an auto-dimming mirror.
The 2018 VW Golf will remain powered by a 1.8-liter TSI engine that produces 170 horsepower and 199 pound-feet of torque. Drivers can choose from a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission on S and SE models, while SEL models come standard with the automatic transmission.
