2020 Volkswagen Tiguan Connectivity Tech
For many, their vehicle is like a second home. We spend a lot of time in our cars, so wanting it to have the latest features and be compatible with all of our other technology is pretty normal. That’s what we’ll be looking at today.
Does the 2020 VW Tiguan have features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto?
Smartphone Connectivity and Multimedia
Every 2020 Tiguan model comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity as a standard feature. The infotainment system is controlled with a standard 6.5-inch touchscreen, which is upgraded to an 8.0-inch one at higher trim levels. Each Tiguan comes with two front USB ports and one rear one. Higher trims add an additional port in the rear and a wireless device charging pad. The 2020 Tiguan now also comes standard with an integrated Wi-Fi hotspot that can support up to four devices simultaneously (no-commitment data plans start at $20/month). Car-Net 2.0 makes its way aboard the 2020 Tiguan with a 5-year complimentary subscription. It gives you remote access to your vehicle. With it, you can start it, lock/unlock it, set the climate control, and much more, all from your smartphone.
The 2020 Tiguan comes standard with a plethora of safety features. For instance, each model has a rearview camera system, forward collision warning with autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and pedestrian detection. It also has an intelligent crash response system that shuts off the fuel pump, unlocks the doors, and turns on the hazard lights automatically when the airbags deploy.
