Seating Capacity and Cargo Space for the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas
Volkswagen has announced that it is releasing an all-new seven passenger midsize SUV. The 2018 VW Atlas is expected to be released in Spring of 2017 and will be the largest VW SUV available in the U.S. The three-row SUV will have a seating capacity of up to seven passengers and the third-row can be easily reached by an innovative folding seat solution, that even works with a child seat installed in the second row. The interior measurements of the 2018 VW Atlas are as follows, 198.3 inches long, 77.9 inches wide and 69.6 inches high.
The 2018 Atlas was built for the average American family and that is why Volkswagen made the all-new Atlas available with seven-passenger seating and a configurable interior to allow customers to configure the interior specifically to their needs. For that reason, Volkswagen gave the Atlas a maximum cargo volume of 96.8 cubic feet when the second and third-row seats are folded down. Both rows also fold flat to assist with a more versatile and practical interior.
2018 VW Atlas Technology Features
The interior features a driver-centric design that enhances the feeling behind the wheel rather than distract from it. Volkswagen offers an available customizable Volkswagen Digital Cockpit which allows drivers to reconfigure how they view vehicle information. The 2018 Atlas will also be available with Volkswagen Car-Net system which provides a full suite of connected vehicle services, including standard App-Connect technology that offers integration with the Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink.
2018 VW Atlas Driver Assistance Features
The all-new 2018 Atlas will feature nine available Driver Assistance features to help give drivers more peace of mind. The available features include adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning and autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitor with rear traffic alert, lane departure warning and parking steering assistant. The all-new Atlas will also be the only vehicle in its class to offer the automatic post-collision braking system. The system applies the brakes when a primary collision is detected by the airbag sensors, helping to reduce residual kinetic energy and the chance of additional damage.
