2020 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport Introduction
If you’ve been following Volkswagen, or maybe looking into buying a Volkswagen vehicle, then you may have come across the 2020 Atlas Cross Sport. The original Atlas is a midsize, three-row SUV. Is the Atlas Cross Sport just a sportier version of the Atlas? Wait a second. Isn’t that just the Atlas R-Line?
What is the Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport?
Atlas Cross Sport Overview
The Atlas Cross Sport is a midsize two-row SUV. Unlike the Atlas and the Tiguan, which both have three rows standard, the Cross Sport is aimed at those who are on the go but don’t need the extra seating capacity. The space where the seats would’ve been is instead used for cargo space. With the rear row folded down, you have 77.8 cu-ft of space to store whatever you need to.
Atlas Cross Sport Performance
The Cross Sport definitely lives up to “sport” part of his name. It has 4Motion AWD with Active Control which allows you to switch between four different modes on the fly. This is paired with either a 235-horsepower 2.0L-turbocharged four-cylinder engine or a 276-horsepower 3.6L V6 engine. If you’re looking to do some towing, we recommend the V6, as it has a tow rating of 5,000 lbs.
Atlas Cross Sport Technology
The Cross Sport has many available driver assistance features, like pedestrian monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, and traffic jam assist. It also features the 10-inch fully-customizable Digital Cockpit, where you can display things like navigation, vehicle diagnostics, and altitude. It also has an available wireless smartphone charging bay, keeping you connected without tying you down with cords and cables.
