What’s New on the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas?
The new 2021 Volkswagen Atlas is here! And whenever we get an awesome new model on our lot, people tend to ask what’s new about them. This is especially true for models that don’t get a complete redesign. While the 2021 Atlas does look a little different than its 2020 sibling, most of the changes are found on the inside or under the hood. Let us a give you a mini tour.
Here are all the new features on the 2021 VW Atlas.
Facelift and Performance Upgrades
The most obvious change (from the outside, at least) is the facelift. The headlights and front bumper now more closely resemble the Atlas Cross Sport. It’s a good change, making the 2021 feel fresh without making it unrecognizable. The bigger change is drivetrain availability. AWD is now available on all 2021 Atlas models. This is a change from the 2020 Atlas, where AWD was only available on the V6 engine variant. Now, both the 235-horse 2.0T four-cylinder and the 276-horse 3.5L V6 have AWD as an option.
The 2021 Atlas has a comprehensive set of standard safety features. The standard safety suite includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and a rearview camera. On the infotainment side of things, a 6.5-inch touchscreen is standard, as is the sought-after Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Three-row seating and FWD are standard on most trims, but AWD and two-row seating is available for those who want them.
