Volkswagen Introduces Updated 2018 Tiguan

What’s New on the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan?

Volkswagen announced the 2018 Tiguan which features a more sophisticated and spacious interior, flexible seating and high-tech infotainment and driver assistance features. Compared to the current model, the new Tiguan offers more interior space at 185.2 inches long. The 2018 Tiguan is 10.7 inches longer than the current version and has up to 57 percent more cargo capacity. The 109.9-inch wheelbase provides both sliding second-row seats and an optional third row.  

2018 VW Tiguan Interior Features

The interior of the 2018 Tiguan has been refreshed with many design changes and newly available features. All entry models will now feature cloth seats with a rhombus pattern that offers a premium look. There is an optional Volkswagen Digital Cockpit display which offers drivers a reconfigurable display of key data and the ability to position navigation data front and center for easy viewing.

A rearview camera is standard on the 2018 Tiguan and the available driver assistance features include Adaptive Cruise Control, upgraded for use in stop and go traffic, Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Monitoring, Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert and Lane Departure Warning.

Customers have more exterior and interior colors to choose from with the 2018 VW Tiguan. The second-row bench will now be able to slide even inches forward and backward and be split 40:20:40. The third-row seats will come standard on front-wheel drive models and be optional on all-wheel drive versions. The available panoramic sunroof lightens the interior to provide an open and spacious appeal.

2018 VW Engine Options

The 2018 Tiguan will be powered by an updated version of Volkswagen’s 2.0-liter turbocharged and direct injection TSI engine producing 184 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque and will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. 4Motion with Active Control all-wheel drive is optional and offers customers four driver-selectable modes to maximize driving enjoyment.
