2022 VW Tiguan Official Reveal: What We Know So Far
Here at Hall Volkswagen near Milwaukee, we love this time of year. The start of summer is when Volkswagen begins revealing what will be happening with the new model year. For instance, the 2022 VW Taos recently arrived at our dealership. And now, the 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan refresh has been revealed.
Here’s what’s new on the 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan, which Volkswagen expects to hit sales lots around the US sometime in the third quarter of 2021.
For most people, the immediately noticeable change for the 2022 Tiguan is the new look. In particular, the 2022 Tiguan sports a revised front end, with a distinctive new bumper, a broad grille, and standard LED headlights. The 2022 Tiguan also has a new wheel design, as well as new exterior colors—King’s Red Metallic and Oryx White—to choose from.
All 2022 Tiguan models will now have the Volkswagen Digital Cockpit fully customizable gauge display and VW Car-Net connected services. Starting at the second trim, the 2022 Tiguan gets standard wireless device charging, wireless App-Connect, the Climatronic touch interface, and newly added IQ.DRIVE driver assistance features.
The 2022 Tiguan will have only four (as yet to be revealed) trims. This is down from the five trims available on the 2021 Tiguan. It is unclear if Volkswagen will also be reducing the number of available packages too.
Under the hood of the 2022 Tiguan, you’ll find a 2.0L EA888 TSI four-cylinder engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The engine pumps out 184 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. FWD is standard, but 4Motion dynamic AWD is available on all models.
