Controls

The climate control and driving controls in the Tiguan are intuitively placed and clearly labeled, as is its crisp and easy-to-navigate touchscreen. The Rogue’s control scheme is mess in comparison, with tiny buttons surrounding its outdated touchscreen or the inexplicably placed steering wheel heat control being hidden by the left knee.

Interior Design

The Tiguan interior is pleasantly understated, deliberately going for a cozy and sturdy vibe instead of luxury. On the other hand, the Rogue feels tacky and cheap, with too much hard, scratchy plastic everywhere.

Comfort

The seating position in the Rogue feels way too cramped and close to the dash with its lack of thigh adjustment. The Tiguan is much more comfortable and offers a wide range of seat movement and similarly customizable steering wheel placement.

Practicality

Both the Tiguan and the Rogue have plenty of cargo of space with 37.6 cubic feet and 39.3 cubic feet respectively. However, the Tiguan makes up for the smaller cargo space by having an extra row of foldable seats. The Tiguan can seat up to 7, whereas the Rogue can only fit 5.

Visibility

The Tiguan has narrow pillars and tall windows, meaning you always have great sight lines. The Rogue, with its sloped roof, has incredibly poor rear visibility, making it hard to see what’s behind you or in your blind spot.
