2020 Volkswagen Atlas | Milwaukee
The 2020 Atlas is out. We’re happy to say that it’s got everything we loved about last year’s model, but with some added benefits. But enough talk, let’s get straight into it.
Here’s your overview of the 2020 Volkswagen Atlas.
New Midsize SUV near Milwaukee
Seating and Cargo Space
The 2020 Volkswagen Atlas is a midsize SUV with three rows. With three rows, the Atlas has a seven-person seating capacity. There is an available captain’s chairs package that removes the standard bench seat and adds two seats just like the driver’s and front passenger’s seats. Naturally, this raises comfort levels, but brings down the seating capacity to six. Regardless of which you choose, seating is accommodating, even in the third row. And all that space translates into exceptional cargo bay volume. Behind the third row, there’s 20.6 cu-ft of space. With those seats down, there’s 55.5 cu-ft behind the second row. With both rear rows down, the cargo space behind the first row measures a cavernous 96.8 cu-ft.
Technology and Connectivity
The new Atlas is all about staying connected. It has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, a an integrated Wi-Fi hotspot that can support four devices at the same time, and a complimentary five-year subscription to Car-Net® remote services that lets you check vehicle diagnostics, remotely start your Atlas, and more, all from your smartphone. With multiple USB charging ports and an available wireless charging bay, you don’t have to worry about your devices going dead either.
Performance and Drivetrain
The 2020 Atlas gives you a choice between the 235-horsepower four-cylinder and 276-horsepower V6. Similarly, the Atlas also has a FWD and a 4Motion AWD variant. However, if you want to get the 4Motion AWD, you’ll need to get the V6, as they are packaged together. You can, however, get a FWD model with the V6, if you like. With the AWD and V6, the towing capacity maxes out at 5,000 lbs.
