The 2020 Jetta has five different available trims:

  • R-Line
  • SEL
  • SEL Premium
With each tier comes more features and upgrades, like a wireless smartphone charger and leather upholstery.

Performance Specs

The 2020 Jetta has an updated 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It puts out 147 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to that high torque, the Jetta is quick and responsive on the throttle. The S and R-line trims have a six-speed manual transmission standard; the SE, SEL, and SEL Premium have an eight-speed automatic standard. The S and R-Line can be purchased with the automatic for those who want it. Fuel economy is EPA-estimated at 30 city / 40 highway MPG.

Integrated Tech and Safety

The 2020 Jetta has all sorts of tech. For instance, it has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, an integrated 4G Wi-FI hotspot, and a 5-year complimentary Car-Net® 2.0 subscription. The hotspot is powered by a $20/month data plan. Car-Net® lets you control remote services (like remote start, unlocking/locking, etc.), view vehicle diagnostics, and more, all from your smart device. As mentioned earlier, upper trims also have access to a wireless smartphone charger.


It also has a bunch of safety features, like forward collision warning, automated emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic high beams. Also available is adaptive cruise control.
